WILSHERE: ARSENAL RETURN A POSSIBILITY
The return of Jack Wilshere to Arsenal will certainly be a big headline, but it remains a possibility at this stage. The 29-year-old has been in Arsenal training for the better part of the last two months in the bid to stay fit for a potential move to the MLS (Major League Soccer) next year.
Earlier this week, Jack Wilshere was asked about a possible return to Arsenal after three years and he didn’t deny it. The Englishman was on TalkSPORT for his punditry work when he was asked about his present status. Jack Wilshere stated that he has regained full fitness, which was his main target when Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta agreed for him to train with the current crop of players at the club. He said that playing for the Arsenal u-23s is very possible.
Jack Wilshere came through the Arsenal ranks before making his first team debut at the age of 16. His time at Arsenal was affected by several injuries. In total, the England international played 198 times for the Gunners in all competitions before he left the club in 2018.
Wilshere left Arsenal shortly after legendary Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger left the club three years. Frenchman Wenger was responsible for his introduction to first team football as a teenager. He left the club at the end of his contract three years ago after Wenger’s immediate successor as Arsenal manager, Unai Emery, could not assure him of his place in the first team if he penned a new deal. He moved to London rivals West Ham United on a free transfer afterwards.
