Jack Wilshere should be dropped from the England squad according to Danny Mills

Former Leeds player Danny Mills has stated that England will be better off dropping Jack Wilshere from the squad.

He said that at the moment he does not see what Wilshere can bring to the team and that he is just taking the space for another player in the team.

He said that Jack Wilshere seems to be a player that is out of form, and that will not be able to contribute much to the Euros. For Mills, Wilshere has not been brilliant in any of the friendlies he has played so far, and he just seems to be a player that can fall apart at any time.

Jack Wilshere has missed almost the entire season for Arsenal and has only come back for the remaining 2 games of the season. He clearly lacks match fitness and sharpness in the games he has played so far.

Roy Hodgson has announced that Jack Wilshere will be part of the England squad that will be participating in the Euros in France. He has been selected ahead of Danny Drinkwater, which has left the Leicester midfielder frustrated. Indeed, Drinkwater has been excellent throughout the season and has helped his team win the title while Jack Wilshere has hardly played this season.

It is clear that Hodgson has a preference for Jack Wilshere which he has labeled as a unique talent. He believes that the Arsenal midfielder can bring something to his team that the other midfielders can’t. Although there is no doubt that Jack Wilshere is a talented player for England he is not in form at the moment.

Mills stated that a gamble on match fitness has never paid off for England and believes that Wilshere should have been axed from the squad for this tournament.
